The homeowners called us after noticing water stains on an upstairs bedroom ceiling. Our inspection found worn-out valleys, brittle shingles and an attic running far too hot because the original builder never installed intake vents.

What we did

  • Tore off two layers of old shingles down to the roof deck
  • Replaced nine sheets of water-damaged decking
  • Installed ice and water shield in every valley and along the eaves
  • Added continuous soffit intake and a ridge vent to balance airflow
  • Finished with Class 4 impact-resistant architectural shingles

The result

A watertight, better ventilated roof that qualified the homeowners for an impact-resistant discount on their insurance premium. The upstairs bedrooms now stay noticeably cooler in summer.
